Whilst I remember, I was asked today if I could help with interviewing for a junior secretary for our department. The woman who would normally do this has just been diagnosed with cancer and will need quite a few weeks off work, although lucky for her, the cancer showed up in a completely unrelated scan, and therefore was caught in its very early stages and will be treatable without chemo. I will be assisting her deputy with the interviewing which is quite scary as I have never interviewed anyone before.
I wonder....... should I be the good cop or the bad cop?

Be the good cop. Good cop interviewing is MUCH easier than bad cop interviewing. I wouldn't expect it to happen in a job interview, but I had someone start crying in an interview I did recently. It's a bit tricky really.
BAD COP! BAD COP!
Trust you Mr E! I think I would rather be the good cop too but then again, its not my decision! Part of me thinks I would make a much better bad cop and I wonder, should I be worried about that?
