On Saturday K & I drove over to Leeds. We fancied a day out and I still had Leeds in my head from when I nearly went a few weeks back. We had lunch in this lovely (but expensive) veggie cafe, mooched about, tried to find an art gallery but got horribly lost (or mis-directed as I think is more the case), looked in a few shops, had coffee and cake and K bought some pants to go with his recently acquired dinner jacket. We just need to see whether the ensemble goes together, as in typical K style its not your conventional dinner jacket I have to say but still pretty damn cool.
The sky on the drive home towards Manchester was beautiful. Whole swathes of brooding dark grey cloud broken up by midnight blue sky. Looking back towards Leeds was all darkness. Its funny as the exhibition we tried to find was all about sky scapes so was ironic that I did actually get to see some!
On arriving home we were a bit naughty and watched the DVD that we had just bought for K's mum's birthday, Memoirs of a Geisha before we posted it ......now seriously, you can't tell me that YOU have never done that. Come on, be honest with me now.
I have my work pool tournament tomorrow so K took me for some practice the other night. Unfortunately the venue was really smokey and divey so we didn't last long and only had two games, although I was shown how to break powerfully and practiced whacking the ball down the other side of the table and back for a while. Then when it came to do the break for real I hit it really soft!!! Go figure! Anyway, I'm in an all girls team called "five girls with sticks and balls" and I think we should at least get a prize for best team name, if indeed we do fail miserably in all other respects. You just know its not going to go our way when for our first game we're pitted against the team that's won the last two years on the trot.
Am listening to a bit of Aretha Franklin as I type this. Just fancied a bit of the soul you know. We're thinking of getting CD decks as our Christmas present this year. Not mega fancy ones as we won't be doing any real DJ'ing with 'em
I think that's enough babble for one night. Love to everyone. J x
