Lightweights

Have you ever been so cold that your hands feel like part of an alien body and your feet like leaden stiff blocks of ice? Well that was me on Saturday morning. The voluntary football group that K helps with were having their annual tournament with other voluntary groups and of course I said I wanted to go and put some faces to names and to see K in his sexy footie outfit...phwoarh! In the event, besides the cold and wind and rain and hanging about, it was a really rewarding morning. The men were obviously excited and the tournament was the highlight of their month and I had some really interesting conversations with them.

Only thing was it did run over schedule and we didn't make it to town in time for L's birthday viewing of the new Bond movie. We went to eat instead, me to thaw out and K to gain some energy whilst the rest of the film ran its course, before we could meet up afterwards for yummy German gluhwein and drinks afterwards. Towards 8/8.30 the group peeled off to get food, and it gave us an excuse to be the lightweights we wanted to be and we came home and I promptly fell asleep on the couch! I'm getting old!
