- My pay rise (starting end of May) was announced this week, which I am happy with. I have affirmed that I made the right decision not accepting the promotion at work. Part of me felt the new challenge would have been a breath of fresh air and the other part felt I would have felt disgruntled working for no extra incentive. I have been challenged by this attitude though, on learning from Cris of the Methodist Minister's salary structure, where everyone, regardless of title, is on an equal salary!

- Tonight we're at Clair and Jayce's to play poker - (not for money). This is only the second time I will have played. I won on the last occasion and will be interesting to see whether it was sheer fluke last time or whether my performance stays at the same level.

- I heard from my lovely friend in Sydney, Mel on Thursday. I made the mistake of reading her email on my lunch hour as my eyes started to tear up. I miss you Mel!!! Hope the move goes well.....

- Latest CD purchase was Veneer by Jose Gonzalez. I haven't really had time to listen to the album yet......shall go do now!

- I just heard the door go - K's back from the local bakers hopefully with some lovely warm, crusty fresh bread. I better go and make coffee.

Looking forward to seeing the newly weds for a catch up at lunchtime.
