Having mild panics today about how on earth we are going to manage with Kev being a student! I will be supporting a student hubbie! Aaaarrgh.
We have not managed to share the news with many peeps as yet, espec as I have been too chicken to broadcast this blog, so DRUMROLL from September kev will be doing a BA in Learning Disability Studies at The University of Manchester.
Everything has happened so fast - from his attending the open day only a couple of weeks ago to his having actually applied - and my initial enthusiastic musings of last week of "yeah you have to go for it, of course we can manage, its an amazing opportunity, blah de blah de blah" are now being overtaken by the practicalities. Seem to be surrounded by a deluge of forms and my brain is bursting at the seams with information. From what I can glean, although we are yet to make the formal application, we will only get a tiny contribution towards fees from the LEA and will have to fund the rest ourselves.
Kev commented earlier that he will just have to work his socks off during holiday periods but my reaction was that I will need us to have a holiday together, espec as I will be working full-time? Lots to work out and discuss and not much time before the course starts in September.

When Matt did his initial paramedic training last year it was a big change - he did a residential course for 10 weeks and money was quite tight. I really don't like change and it was a big adjustment - now we're just starting to get used to him working shifts. It can be challenging - and just bloody hard at times. But you will manage - it helps to develop communication skills...
Thanks chicks for your comments. We WILL manage, espec as we have great peeps supporting us and God upstairs.
OF COURSE we are still coming in November Mel......would not miss your wedding for the world! Kev will just have to have some studying time over there. x
