My niece was 21 on Friday and she held a huge party. Having pelted up the motorway to Cumbria after work and having a quick shower and change at my mum's I was certainly ready to party. My niece and my sister have been attending salsa lessons and they hired the dance instructor for the evening. He gave everyone a mass class. It was such a great idea: an ice breaker and a fantastic way of getting everyone on the dance floor early on in the evening. The music later changed into your usual disco. There were some tensions early on in that various family members had fallen out and so and so wasn't speaking to so and so and the like but I said to my mum that basically we should not worry about it and have a good time and have a good time we certainly did.
Saturday brought most of the family over to my mum's to have a swim and we had left over pies from the night before. Then we all piled over to the beach for a game of pitch and putt which was such fun. I haven't played in years and want to go back. We had dinner with Kev's parents and went over to catch up with our good friends, Craig and Jane. We ended up playing cards into the wee small hours.
Sorry for a now abrupt finish without finishing my report on the weekend but my lunch hour is over ...............
