Silly Me

So, what's new.....what's been happening in the last few weeks in Julesy's world.

Had two weekends away recently - firstly to London for August Bank Holiday weekend primarily to attend the great and wonderful Notting Hill Carnival which was as fab as ever and secondly home to Cumbria to attend my nephew, Matthew's dedication (similar to a Christening) and to see my mates' new baby boy, Jude Norman .

Had a consultation day at church last Saturday. We have spent a number of weeks discussing a basic draft of a "mission statement" stylie documents and the purpose of Saturday was to discuss the drafting, nuts and bolts and outworkings of this. Slept afterwards from 6.30 to 10 pm in order to sufficiently recover to party the night away in Whalley Range with the gorgeous Seaming and one and only, unique Lev.

K started his new job on Monday. He is in training until Thursday and is learning restraint techniques tomorrow. I said we will have to have a fight tomorrow night and he'd better let me win!

Sunday 4 September was hands down my favourite day of the past month, when we ventured into the Lake District on our way home from my mum's. We had a fabulous day meandering up alongside the east side of Lake Conison, picking blackberries, pottering and dipping our toes into the lake. Twas a gorgeously hot day and we had lunch and supped ale at a lovely old pub overlooking fields and sheep and in the distance the mountains. Then we had a walk along a deserted track past a peaceful river. Bliss.

On arriving back into Manchester, we met Andy S and his picnic party in Platts Field park. Later still, the last men standing, Kev, Cris, Eyan and I, met Steven and Ruthieee for a night cap in Chorlton.

Later in the week we went to Norman and Andy's for a fabulous dinner and I made blackberry and apple crumble for dessert with my Lake District picked blackberries. Norman is a fabulous cook and we feasted on fine dining Thai.
