Had a pretty fun weekend including great food, music, dancing and playing a game of cricket with an Early Learning Centre plastic cricket set!
Old friends who live down south, Duncs and Lorns visited on Saturday afternoon with their two kids, a 2 year old boy, Neo and their 6 month old daughter, Clara. After consuming Kev's feast for lunch, we took them to see the delights of Cale Green Park, where we all had a go on the swings and played cricket with aforesaid plastic cricket set. At one point, Neo decided it was more fun to bounce the ball on the concrete path and it took us about 10 minutes before we realised how ridiculous us adults must look! Speaking of cricket, Kev is pretty made up that we beat the Aussies yesterday.
After Dunc and Lorns left we ventured into Castlefield for the Dpercussion festival and got there around 6 pm. It was absolutely packed and after meeting Kev's work mate and a few others, we lost everyone within half an hour. I then waited 45 minutes at the bar for a drink at Barca, and as it was nigh on impossible to stay together as a group, in the end Kev and I struck out on our own. Surprisingly, we didn't catch any of the bands and just saw lots of DJs at the different venues, ending the night at Canteena. I was really surprised by how few of the DJs actually mixed the songs and there were many gaps between songs! Poor show I say!
We're having a new bathroom installed this week but the builder has phoned to say he is delayed on a job and can't start until tomorrow now. As we have Kev's dad and a couple of his friends staying at the weekend I am really worried that we won't have a serviceable bathroom for them. We're having a new door, electrics, ceiling, lighting, tiling, 3 piece suite, shower and extractor fan. We're doing the floor and wall painting bit ourselves - gonna prime the floorboards and paint them white which hopefully will look good.
